Daily Study I played a rapid game and then I analysed it. The interesting move to think about was the blunder f3 (that I made) and understanding why the move is not a good choice in such positions.

Daily Study Today I played two blitz games. I lost my first game in time trouble (I had a winning position – up a queen for two minor pieces) and won the second game. Here is the second game along with my annotations.

Daily Study Today I beat my high score on Puzzle Rush (smashed my previous high score by 5!) I caught up with the tournament results for the Grand Swiss and worked on my newsletter (coming out at the end of the month). Congraluations to Alireza Firouzja and Fabiano Caruana for placing first and second, qualifying for the 2022 Candiates tournament.

Daily Study Due to it being the start of the weekend I thought I would play a few extra blitz games. I lost ten in a row! How insane is that? The thing that I found most interesting was that I didn’t get annoyed or frustrated. It was actually funny how many times I lost and I was able to have a good laugh about it. I think I was probably just tired, as there were quite a few blunders.
