What a day! I played a few games and kept on losing. Lots of silly mistakes and my brain was not working. Some days it is way harder to think clearly. It could be that I just don’t understand the new openings I am trying out. Regardless, I lost a lot of games!
After losing a number of games I took a break and tried to re-coop some of the rating points later in the day. Amazingly I recovered really well to finish the day with the highest rating I have had yet in my Climb To 2000 series, just a few points shy of 1800. I was still making lots of silly errors though and had to work hard to win a number of games.
One of my opponents was eager to play a number of games, which was great as I got a chance to play against the same opening numerous times. My opponent played the London System and the Scandanvian Defense. I fared quite well, but one thing I noticed in my games was that I just wasn’t sure of what ideas to employ against the London System.
